Sloane Wiggers

Environmental Educator

Sloane Wiggers is joined the Trust staff as an Environmental Educator. A Beaufort native, she grew up playing in the salt marsh and helping to locate sea turtle nests on Harbor Island. After receiving her degree in Biological Sciences at Clemson University, she worked as a researcher at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, tagging nesting sea turtles and tracking Eastern Kingsnakes. Since 2016, she’s worked as an Educator at Rock Eagle 4-H Center teaching students about ecology and natural history.

Sloane is enjoying her return to the Lowcountry! When she isn’t working, you can find her searching for shark teeth on the beach and trying new coffee shops with her husband.

The mission of the Spring Island Trust is to preserve and protect Spring Island’s environment and cultural history, providing education, expertise, and leadership in the conservation of natural resources throughout the Lowcountry.
